The Wilmington Memorial Library is a public library dedicated to providing opportunities for lifelong learning, cultural enrichment, literacy support, and community connection. Its mission is fulfilled through the development and presentation of diverse programs, utilizing staff expertise, collections, and facilities. The library offers a wide range of services, including free library cards for residents, access to meeting rooms, museum passes, computers with internet and Microsoft Office, and digitization services. They also provide technology assistance, reader resources, and a "Library of Things" with items like telescopes and board games. Additionally, the library offers a Homebound Delivery service for those unable to visit in person and limited proctoring services. The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library, a non-profit organization founded in 1997, supports the library by promoting public awareness and providing financial assistance for services beyond the town's budget, including funding for programs and initiatives like a soundproof TalkBox booth and operating a used bookstore. The library also partners with community organizations, such as the Wilmington Wellness Coalition, to offer support services.
