The West Warwick Public Library (WWPL) serves as a vital community hub, offering a wide array of resources and programming for residents of all ages. Its mission, supported by the Friends of the WWPL, is to promote community awareness and ensure access to information for everyone. The library provides traditional services such as lending books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, and genealogy resources. Beyond this, WWPL offers a public computer lab with library-sponsored computer classes, a "Library of Things" with items ranging from tools to therapy lamps, and various programs for adults, children, and teens, including book clubs, craft sessions, and gaming events. Historically, the library opened its doors in 1967 and has since expanded to meet growing community needs, becoming part of the Ocean State Library Consortium. It has been recognized as a finalist for the National Medal for Library and Information Services multiple times.
