The Wellesley Free Library (WFL) serves as a vital community hub, functioning as a gathering place, cultural destination, and gateway to knowledge for residents of all ages. Its mission is to connect the community to each other and to the world, fostering lifelong learning and enriching lives through diverse programs and offerings. The library provides universal access to information, upholding intellectual freedom and user privacy. With a vast collection of physical and digital materials, including books, DVDs, music, eBooks, and subscriptions to numerous databases and magazines, the WFL ensures resources are responsive to community needs. The library is committed to inclusivity, equity, and a culture of belonging, offering services such as English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programs and technology tutoring. The Wellesley Free Library Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) organization, supports the library by raising private funds to enhance its offerings beyond the traditional tax-based budget, funding initiatives like interactive play spaces, coding classes, and adult programs.
