Wade House Historic Site is a 240-acre open-air museum in Greenbush, Wisconsin, operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society. It preserves and interprets the horse-powered world of the mid-19th century, focusing on stagecoach travel, horse-drawn transportation, and early settlement life. The site features the restored Sylvanus Wade House stagecoach inn, the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum with Wisconsin's largest collection of carriages and wagons, a working blacksmith shop, and a water-powered sawmill. Visitors can experience historical demonstrations, costumed interpreters, and horse-drawn wagon rides, offering an immersive glimpse into frontier life and the golden age of carriage transportation.
