The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier is a hands-on interactive children's museum located in Binghamton, New York, chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. Its mission is to foster creativity, imagination, and lifelong learning by integrating the arts with play, aiming to develop the intellectual, physical, and emotional well-being of children in the Southern Tier. The museum features over 30 exhibits, both indoors and outdoors in its Story Garden, offering multisensory, hands-on experiences that make learning accessible and engaging. These exhibits encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and self-expression in a joyful environment. The Discovery Center also provides preschool and afterschool programs for children aged 3-12 and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all visitors, with staff trained to support individuals with sensory sensitivities. The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier Foundation works to ensure the long-term financial stability of the museum, preserving its legacy for future generations.
