The Peter & Julie Cummings Library is a branch of the Martin County Library System, dedicated to informing and inspiring residents through learning opportunities that improve communities. Established in 1995 and expanded in 2008, the library offers a 21,504 square foot facility featuring community, conference, and study rooms, a dedicated children's area with a treehouse play area, and a digital literacy lab. The library provides a wide range of services including access to a collection of over 293,500 volumes, circulating more than 1.2 million items annually, large print materials, fiction, audio discs, and visual materials. It hosts virtual and in-person events and offers educational programs in music, arts, science, school resources, and literacy. The library also provides homework help, SAT/ACT test preparation, college scholarship writing, and financial literacy resources. Its mission is to connect with people and create learning experiences that enhance individuals and the community, valuing people, quality, flexibility, continuous improvement, innovation, and creativity.
