The Parker Parks and Recreation Department, established in 1992, is dedicated to providing quality parks, recreation facilities, and services to meet the needs of its growing community. The department manages over 398 acres of parkland, 41 miles of trails, 14 parks, and 1,144 acres of open space, alongside four recreation facilities. They offer a comprehensive range of adult and youth activities, including aquatic classes, enrichment programs, fitness and wellness, sports leagues, therapeutic recreation, and special events. Recognized nationally for its achievements, including two Gold Medal Awards and CAPRA accreditation, Parker Parks and Recreation strives to enrich the community's quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, state-of-the-art facilities, and well-maintained natural spaces. Funding for these services comes from a dedicated parks tax, user fees, sponsorships, grants, and special revenue sources.
