The Niles Canyon Railway is a heritage railroad museum operated by the volunteer-run Pacific Locomotive Association. Its mission is to preserve and interpret the history of Pacific Coast railroading from 1910 to 1960 by operating historic steam and diesel locomotives on a preserved segment of the First Transcontinental Railroad. The railway offers public excursions between Sunol and Fremont, California, and hosts special events like the "Train of Lights" holiday train.
