The Mt. Lebanon Public Library (MLPL), founded in 1932, is a vital community resource governed by a Board of Trustees and funded by the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon, with additional support from the Allegheny Regional Asset District and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Its mission is to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for intellectual enrichment, creativity, and enjoyment, serving as a forum for idea exchange through top-tier programs, materials, and services. The library strives to offer diverse collections, up-to-date technology, and educational opportunities for patrons of all ages, from young children to seniors. MLPL is committed to fostering community partnerships, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and providing safe and accessible physical and virtual spaces. Services include access to digital resources like e-books and streaming films, a used book store, social services assistance, and the RAD Pass program for regional attractions. The library also recently declared itself a Book Sanctuary, the first public library in Pennsylvania to do so.
