The Hoboken Public Library Friends & Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2022 through the merger of the Friends of the Hoboken Public Library (est. 1986) and the Hoboken Library Foundation (est. 2012). It is comprised of volunteers dedicated to supporting the Hoboken Public Library. The organization's mission is to advocate for strong public funding, raise public awareness of the library, and secure private funds for library programs, capital needs, and other emerging needs. They raise money for additional programs and services outside the library's budget and for capital improvements. Their activities include funding special programming, purchasing museum passes, managing a book drive, funding community care kits, and supporting the Hoboken Oral History Project. They also aim to support the library's historic building and infrastructure.
