Long envisioned as a cornerstone of Folsom Lake College, the visual and performing arts center was designed to nurture aspiring actors, musicians, dancers, visual artists, and technicians. A 2003 feasibility study expanded its scope into a regional arts hub. Construction of the $50 million Harris Center for the Arts began in July 2008, supported by various funding sources. Opening in February 2011, it quickly drew over 300,000 patrons. Today, the Center hosts over 400 events annually, welcoming more than 150,000 visitors each year, enriching the cultural fabric of the community.
