The Fort Myers Regional Library, a key facility within the Lee County Library System, is a public library located in downtown Fort Myers, Florida. Established in its current building in 2014, its origins trace back to the first public library in Fort Myers in 1900. As part of a system founded in 1964 with 13 branches, it serves the community by providing access to a vast collection of physical and digital resources, including books, eBooks, and audiobooks. The library offers essential services such as free Wi-Fi, public computers with printing and scanning capabilities, meeting and study rooms, and curbside holds pickup. It is particularly noted for housing the Lee County Library System's main genealogy collection, the largest in Southwest Florida, offering extensive print, microform, and digital resources for genealogical research. The library also hosts various community programs and events, including storytimes, book discussions, technology classes, and the annual Southwest Florida Reading Festival. Its mission, aligned with the broader Lee County Library System, is to strengthen the community by informing and enriching individuals.
