Benchmark School is an independent, co-educational institution serving bright students in grades 1-8 who learn differently, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, or auditory processing issues. Founded in 1970, the school's mission is to help students develop confidence, strategies, and knowledge to become lifelong learners, thinkers, and problem-solvers. Benchmark employs a research-based, evidence-informed approach with intentionally small class sizes, typically no more than 13 students, and multiple teachers in language arts and math classrooms. The school emphasizes building on students' strengths while addressing weaknesses, fostering self-efficacy, confidence, social skills, and a growth mindset within a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment. Beyond academics, Benchmark offers extracurricular activities and athletics to enrich student and family engagement in the school community. The school's approach focuses on empowering students to understand their learning styles and become confident self-advocates, ensuring they are prepared for success in high school and beyond.
