The Barlow Planetarium, located at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Fox Cities Campus in Menasha, Wisconsin, is a premier facility dedicated to astronomical education and entertainment. Established in 1998 as the first major planetarium in Wisconsin, it offers immersive experiences with its 48-foot diameter projection dome, seating 102 visitors. The planetarium utilizes advanced technology, including an Evans and Sutherland Digistar II star projector and a Skylase FX full-dome laser projector, to showcase celestial wonders and captivating laser light shows, often synchronized with music. Interactive control panels in each seat allow audience participation during programs. The Barlow Planetarium serves approximately 35,000 visitors annually, offering school field trips, Scouting programs, birthday parties, private events, and weekly public star and laser shows. It also collaborates with the nearby Weis Earth Science Museum, offering combined admission for a comprehensive educational experience.
