The Allegheny County Library Association (ACLA) is a collaborative network of 46 independent public libraries throughout Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, formed in 1991 to address the challenges faced by individual libraries. ACLA promotes high-quality library services for all residents by providing shared resources, administrative support, funding, and professional development. It enhances equitable access while preserving each library's unique identity. ACLA also manages mobile services, youth programs, and job search assistance, reinforcing libraries as essential centers for community engagement and support.
