Details:
This one-hour NIA class is a gentle, joyful, full-body movement experience that blends dance, martial arts, and mindfulness practices to support strength, mobility, balance, and body awareness. Set to inspiring music, the class guides participants through expressive movement sequences that emphasize sensation, alignment, intention and ease rather than forcing or pushing the body. The class includes a gradual warm-up, dynamic movement phases, and a grounding cool-down that promotes relaxation and integration. NIA is practiced barefoot to increase sensory feedback and connection, but shoes are optional. No prior dance or fitness experience is requiredthis class welcomes all bodies and celebrates movement as a pathway to health, creativity, and joy. About the Instructor Laurel Lenski, a NIA White Belt Instructor, also holds degrees in Dance and Expressive Art Therapy.
