Details:
Poet and bookseller Glenn Shea will be giving a lively talk on Shakespeare's 116th sonnet: "Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments." He will delve into the history of the form, trace its arrival in England, speak about the possible and disputed autobiographical content of the poem, and then speak about how the poem is constructed--giving us a chance to consider what poetry is and how it works.
Open discussion to follow--bring your questions and your opinions.
