Nothing says summer quite like enjoying live music in a beautiful park! This July, The Village Arts Factory invites you to sit back, relax, and soak in summer at Jazz in the Park, a Wednesday evening concert series set in Preservation Park.
Bring your lawn chairs, family, friends, and your appetite! Each week, enjoy live performances in an open-air park, paired with great bites from local food vendors and cold brews at the beer tent. While the music sets the mood, families can explore a themed hands-on art activity every week, making this a great evening for all ages!
This event is free and open to all!

Artists Bio's
Depot Town Big Band is a traditional 19-piece Big Band from Ypsilanti, MI. Their sound draws from the legends, like the timeless swing of Count Basie, the elegance of Glenn Miller, the fire of Maynard Ferguson, and the innovation of Thad Jones. You’ll also hear the influence of modern masters like Tom Kubis, Gordon Goodwin, and even Koji Kondo — because great music transcends genre.
Olivia Van Goor is a Detroit-based jazz vocalist recognized for her rich tone, stylistic fluency, and modern approach to classic repertoire. A two-time 2025 winner at the Michigan Music Awards for Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Single/Performance, she continues to establish herself as a leading voice in the Midwest jazz scene.
Alise King is a multi award winning R&B Soul Artist who has opened for the likes of The Iconic Chaka Khan, The legendary Aretha Franklin, The Trailblazing George Clinton, Bobby Brown, Monica, The Jacksons, and many more! Ms. King is more than just a powerhouse vocalist with impeccable stage presence! She is a creative with a purpose and a passion for people!
Kenji Lee is a Japanese-American saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and improviser. His work seeks to embody the vitality of experimentalism while staying diligently rooted in historical practices. His personal approach fuses a trans-idiomatic vocabulary with rich instrumental technique and has garnered the attention of audiences and fellow artists alike.
