Details:
Hello,
The Human Performance Laboratory at the University of North Alabama is currently recruiting two additional female participants for a research study examining how exercise in hot environments affects cardiovascular and cognitive performance during conditions that simulate short-term spaceflight.
Participants in this study will complete a series of exercise and cognitive testing sessions in the Health and Human Performance Laboratory. The study involves treadmill exercise, heat exposure sessions, cognitive testing, and monitoring conducted across multiple visits to the lab. The research aims to better understand physiological adaptations that may help improve performance and safety during short-duration spaceflight.
Participation requirements include:
• Female
• U.S. citizen (required for payment processing)
• Free of known medical conditions
• Able to attend 13 lab visits over approximately 6 weeks
Study schedule:
• 13 total visits to the lab
• 12 visits occur within an 18-day period
• 6 of the visits are extended trials lasting approximately 6 hours each
• Remaining visits involve shorter testing sessions
Compensation:
Participants who complete all study trials will receive $1,500 upon completion.
Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any time.
If you are interested in learning more or would like to see if you qualify, please email slyons1@una.edu.
Thank you for considering participation in this research.
