Armory Park Grand Reopening & Fourth of July Weekend Community Party
Join Ward 6 Council Member Miranda Schubert and Tucson Parks and Recreation as we celebrate the grand reopening of Armory Park with a Fourth of July weekend community party!
Thursday, July 2, 2026
Beginning at 6 p.m.
Armory Park, 222 S. Fifth Ave.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an evening of live entertainment, family-friendly activities, community celebration, and the unveiling of the newly renovated park.
Event Schedule
• 6 p.m. – Dignitary speeches and ribbon cutting
• 6:20 p.m. – Youth Mariachi Ensemble
• 6:45 p.m. – DJ Q of Sonido Tambo
• 7:30 p.m. – Live music by Chicha Dust
Additional Activities
• El Ray Classic & Lowrider Car Show on 13th Street
• Flam Chen stilt performers and circus workshop
• Food trucks (food available for purchase)
• Giant yard games
• KIIM FM live broadcast from 5–7 p.m.
• Children's Museum Discovery Night with pay-what-you-wish admission (adults must enter with a child)
The $1.71 million renovation project, funded through Tucson Delivers Proposition 407, includes a new pavilion, plaza/performance area, dog park, lighting, benches, picnic tables, and improvements to restrooms, irrigation, and sidewalks.
Come celebrate the reopening of this historic downtown park, connect with neighbors, and kick off Fourth of July weekend with an evening of music, recreation, and community fun.
