5-Day Washington, DC in Fall

Join us in celebrating America's 250th Birthday as we travel to Washington, DC September 21-25, 2026!
Monday, September 21st, We depart Farragut (JCPenney) at 6:30am and Knoxville (Walmart) at 7:30am to journey east to our nation's capitol, Washington, D.C. We will stop for a fast food lunch on your own in Roanoke. Our next stop will be Thomas Jefferson's Monticello in Charlottesville. Once here we will have a tour and explore the grounds before departing for an included dinner at a local restaurant. We check into our DC area hotel 9pm.
Tuesday, September 22nd, we visit the US Capitol, the National Archives (Home to the Declaration of Independence & the Constitution), and the Museum of the Bible. Our day will also include the Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. A box lunch will be included today and dinner will be on your own in the Pentagon City Mall.
Wednesday, September 23rd, we start our day with a solemn visit to Arlington National Cemetery where have a narrated trolley tour that includes stops at the gravesite of President John F Kennedy, and the memorial amphitheater which is home to the unknown soldier and the changing of the guard. After paying our respects to those who fought for our freedom, we visit Mount Vernon, home of our nations first president, George Washington. Lunch is included while here via a meal voucher for the food court. After lunch we have a tour of his home and free time to explore the grounds and special exhibits celebrating America's 250th birthday! Dinner will be on your own tonight at a local buffet before returning to our hotel.
Thursday, September 24th, We start our day with a visit to the Washington National Cathedral for a guided tour then enjoy free time to explore the National Museum of Natural History, National air & Space Museum, and the National Museum of American History. Lunch will be on your own while exploring these museums. Tonight we enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant before ending our time in DC with a night tour monuments and memorials.
Friday, September 25th, we depart our hotel at 8am and begin our journey back home to East Tennessee. We will make makes along the way including a stop for lunch on your own. We return to Knoxville by 6pm & Farragut 7pm.
