**Event Description: Salmon River Trail Party West - Mt. Hood**
Join us for a rewarding day of seasonal maintenance and crosscut logout on the west end of the Salmon River Trail! Led by Crew Leader Neil C., this moderate intensity event will cover a 6-mile round trip hike with an elevation gain of 1,000 feet. Participants will engage in essential trail work including tread maintenance, brushing, and log removal past the wilderness boundary, about two miles in.
Expect to encounter friendly hikers along this popular and well-shaded trail, which features some stunning views and gentle uphill trends. For safety, please plan to stay for the entire event—late arrivals or early departures are not permitted.
Participants should come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and necessary personal items like work gloves (loaner gloves available), sunscreen, and a sturdy pack. Recommended attire includes sturdy boots, long-sleeved clothing, and weather-appropriate layers.
TKO provides all tools and personal protective equipment, and they also offer gear loans for those in need. Event details, including directions, will be shared via email 48 hours prior to the event.
As you join us in stewardship, we acknowledge the trails' significance to the Indigenous tribes whose lands we traverse, and we strive for inclusivity in our events. If you require accommodations, please reach out in advance. TKO is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all participants.
Join us for a impactful day of trail care and community connection!
