Details:
Join the Rogue River Walk Trail Party on the South Coast to help the Trailkeepers of Oregon (TKO) improve the Orchard Bar section of the trail! Led by Crew Leader Trevor B., the event will accommodate a maximum of 10 volunteers for a moderate 2-mile hike with less than 500 feet of elevation gain.
Participants will utilize power and hand tools to tackle tread work, brushing, and log removal along the trail corridor. The meeting point is at the Orchard Bar parking area, followed by a mile hike to the work site over uneven terrain. Commitment to the entire session is essential for safety; late arrivals or early departures are not permitted without prior arrangements.
Event details, including directions, will be sent to registrants 48 hours before the event. Volunteers are advised to bring plenty of water, snacks or lunch, and protective gear like work gloves (loaners available), along with appropriate clothing and personal emergency supplies. Sturdy boots, long sleeves, and sun protection are recommended while TKO provides tools and personal protective equipment.
We acknowledge that our work takes place on the traditional lands of various Indigenous tribes and strive to honor their stewardship of the land. TKO is committed to inclusivity and safety for all participants, encouraging open communication regarding accommodations and addressing any discomfort during the event. Although masks are not required, respect for those who choose to wear them is requested.
Join us in this rewarding experience to connect with nature and each other while giving back to the community! For any specific questions, reach out to TKO staff before the event.
