Details:
Join us for a trail rehabilitation project at Eagle Fern County Park in Clackamas County, aimed at improving a lightly used and poorly maintained trail. Led by Crew Leaders Pat K. and Elaine K., this event has a maximum crew size of 12 participants. The trail spans about half a mile with a moderate hiking intensity and an elevation gain of 300 feet, featuring steep and uneven sections. Volunteers will engage in tread rehabilitation and the construction of new switchbacks to reduce the trail's grade, as well as the removal of logs obstructing the path.
Participants are expected to commit to the entire project duration for safety reasons. Detailed directions to the meeting location will be provided via email 48 hours prior to the event. Essential items to bring include water, snacks, work gloves (loaner gloves available), medications, sunscreen, insect repellent, and sturdy boots—open-toed shoes are not allowed. TKO will provide all necessary tools and personal protective equipment.
We acknowledge that the trails traverse the traditional lands of Indigenous tribes, and we honor the stewardship of these communities. TKO is committed to inclusivity and invites those needing accommodations to reach out ahead of time. Our focus is on creating a welcoming environment for all, free from bias and hate, ensuring everyone's physical and emotional safety during the event. While masking is not required, we respect individual choices regarding health safety. Join us in making a positive impact on Oregon's trails!
