June Kids Club: “Under the Sea!” at The Makery

Dive into creativity this June with our Under the Sea Kids Club series at The Makery!

Designed especially for ages 4–12, this playful and hands-on art series invites children to explore ocean-inspired projects using a variety of fun materials and techniques. From sculpting sea creatures to painting magical underwater scenes, each week offers a new creative adventure.

Children are welcome to attend one session or all four — each class is sold individually so you can choose the dates that work best for your family.

These one-hour workshops are designed to encourage imagination, creativity, and artistic confidence in a relaxed and welcoming studio environment perfect for all skill levels.

June Weekly Themes
Week 1 (6/6): Sculpted Sea Creatures
Create your own underwater animal inspired by ocean life using clay. Your creature will dry in our studio for approximately two weeks before being bisque fired. Once it has been fired, participants will be invited back to glaze (“paint”) their piece. After a final glaze firing, your finished artwork will be ready to take home!

Week 2 (6/13): Narwhal Painting
Paint a whimsical underwater narwhal scene on canvas with acrylic paint while learning simple painting techniques.

Week 3 (6/20): Glazed Flamingo Floaties
Glaze a fun flamingo floatie-inspired ceramic project perfect for summer.

Note: Ceramic projects will be glazed during class and will need to remain at The Makery for firing. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup approximately two weeks later.

Week 4 (6/27): Jellyfish Keychains
Create colorful jellyfish-inspired keychains using mixed media and playful textures.
