Details:
Join us at the Cultural Arts Center as we explore the relaxing and creative art of weaving in this hands-on, beginner-friendly four-week workshop series! Inspired by nature-based craft techniques, participants will build their own simple loom from cardboard and learn foundational weaving skills to create a unique handmade textile piece. Using yarn, fabric strips, and a variety of fibers, you’ll experiment with color, texture, and pattern, blending creativity with mindful making.
Cardboard loom weaving is an accessible fiber art that uses a simple frame to interlace threads. Throughout the series, participants will learn how to warp their loom (setting the vertical threads) and weave materials back and forth (the weft) using an over-under pattern. With opportunities to incorporate recycled and natural materials, this program encourages both creativity and sustainability.
No experience needed, just bring your creativity and enjoy the rhythm of weaving!
