Details:
About The Writers Room is a community of writers focusing on the tactics of screenwriting and storytelling. Each session will center on a theme (formatting, 3-act structure, the “complex character”) and end with the option to table-read student work, with discussions to follow. Each class is a standalone lesson, so writers can drop in whenever their schedules allow. This year’s Writers Room topics include: May 27: Fun & Games June 17: Three-Act Structure July 29: The Complex Character Sept. 2: Deep-Dive into Formatting Led by Jeff Bender (MFA Columbia University, teacher at Ursinus College) , who teaches Intro to Screenwriting (Spring and Fall 2026) and Screenwriting II (Spring 2027) at the Colonial Theatre. He’s also a judge for the Phoenixville Film Festival.
