Details:
Join us at the Clifton Institute for our Open-access Days, where Friends of the Institute can explore the field station every Saturday from mid-January to mid-October. Become a Friend with a minimum annual donation of $40 to support our education, restoration, and research programs. Before visiting, please read the liability release form and help us care for our ecosystem by respecting the plants and animals. A trail map will be provided, but we recommend using GPS and navigation skills, as some trails are still under construction and may not be marked. Please note that the farmhouse is closed, and port-a-potties are available.
Our rules include no dogs, littering, or disturbing wildlife, and we encourage participants to leave no trace. Children under 18 must be with an adult, and each family can bring one or two visitors, while access may be limited for non-family members if misused.
In addition, we are hosting the 30th annual NABA Butterfly Count this summer, welcoming butterfly enthusiasts of all levels to help count butterflies within a 15-mile circle and contribute data to the North American Butterfly Association. Participants will form small teams led by experienced counters, meeting at the Clifton Institute at 4 PM to tally results over refreshments. Registration is required, and please remember to bring a lunch, water, and wear appropriate clothing. Stay updated on any weather-related changes via email. We look forward to seeing you and appreciate your support in preserving our natural environment!
