Details:
Join us for "Drawing Closer: Stayin' Alive" at the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper, where artists of all experience levels are invited to draw inspiration from the Clark’s diverse collection of works on paper. This month’s theme is still life, showcasing an array of prints, drawings, and photographs that explore subjects from the delicious to the grotesque, and the mundane to the precious. Participants can enjoy an open session to either copy earlier artworks or focus on practicing drawing fundamentals and exploring new ideas. Basic materials will be provided, but artists bringing their own supplies should note that only graphite pencils are permitted in the Study Center. For more information and registration, visit events.clarkart.edu/. Featured artwork includes Édouard Manet’s "Hat and Guitar" (detail) from 1862–94, printed after 1894, an etching, aquatint, and roulette on laid paper, part of the Clark collection.
