Details:
Join us for one of Wyandotte’s most beloved summer traditions! The Skip Clack’s Fishing Derby returns on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Bishop Park Fishing Pier.
Young anglers ages 5–13 are invited to enjoy a morning of friendly competition, outdoor fun, and community spirit along the Detroit River. Each year, more than 200 participants take part in this exciting event.
Bait will be provided. Participants must bring their own fishing pole.
Registration is available on the City’s website or in person on the day of the event prior to the start of the derby.
Prizes and trophies will be awarded in several categories, including longest fish, smallest fish, most fish caught, and most unusual catch. Judges’ decisions are final.
Every participant will also receive a gift bag filled with coupons and gift certificates donated by local businesses, including movie passes, recreation opportunities, and local dining offers.
This is a fun, family-friendly event and a true highlight of the summer season in Wyandotte. Bring the kids, bring a chair, and enjoy a great morning at the pier.
