Details:
Houichol beading is traditionally done by a Northern Mexican Native tribe. They are known for incorporating intricate designs on objects one bead at a time. To honor their tradition, I will be having students use materials such as beads, a wax-pine pitch material and porcupine quills. We will use a simple grid design and create a colorful pendant.
