The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a New World Screwworm update on June 25 in Goliad. The event will include an update on New World screwworm on livestock and a biologist from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department who will discuss the impacts of the pest on wildlife and what to do if you see an infected animal. Luke Drosche, AgriLife Extension disaster and risk assessment agent will discuss AgriLife Extension’s response to New World screwworm. Speakers include: Mike Bennett, Goliad County Judge. Wayne Crounch, DVM, regional director, Texas Animal Health Commission. Drosche. David Veale, District 10 leader, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Area livestock barn owners.
