Abe's 19th Century Toy Making Workshop

Join us for a creative journey through history with two exciting events in Springfield! First, at Abe's 19th Century Toy Making Workshop, you can step back in time as Abraham Lincoln shares stories about the toys his children played with and invites you to make your very own 19th-century toy. This program is free and open to everyone, with no reservations needed.

Then, unleash your artistic side at Capitol Creations at the Old State Capitol, hosted by All Paint and Studio on 6th. Celebrate summer by creating Americana-inspired artwork, including charming farmhouse scenes and Route 66 signs in a fun, step-by-step painting class designed for all skill levels. Classes take place on Saturdays, July 11, 18, and 25, from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Old State Capitol Plaza. Pricing options include single seats for $35, couples for $65, and a family 4-pack for $120, with all supplies provided.
