Guggenheim Art Camp, Summer 2026Exploring Space: Architecture and the Museum ExperienceJune 29–July 2 (Monday through Thursday) 9 am–3 pm, with aftercare available until 5 pm ($30/hr) For 6–8-year-olds and 9–12-year-oldsThis week, campers will discover how environments shape the way we see and can experience art. Inspired by the iconic spiral design of the Guggenheim, created by Frank Lloyd Wright, students will look closely at how curves, light, and movement guide visitors through space. Campers will also explore how museums connect across cities and cultures, as reflected in the Guggenheim’s global constellation. Students will imagine new kinds of spaces for art and consider how architecture can reflect the world around us. At the end of the week, we’ll celebrate together at a special exhibition in the Education Center that showcases the campers’ artwork. This is an experience your child won’t want to miss. This week, campers will explore how artists use color to express ideas and emotions. Through close looking and creative exploration of the exhibitions Carol Bove and Guggenheim Pop, students will notice how colors interact, contrast, and transform a work of art. They will consider how different combinations create energy or harmony and how color shapes the way we respond to what we see. By the end of the week, campers will understand color as a powerful tool for communication and imagination. At the end of the week, we’ll celebrate together at a special exhibition in the Education Center that showcases the campers’ artwork. This is an experience your child won’t want to miss. Students will practice observing closely, asking questions, and forming their own interpretations. They’ll discover that abstract art invites curiosity and creativity, where there is no single “right” answer. Through open-ended exploration, campers will gain confidence in their own ways of seeing and understanding the world.
