Details:
Join us for a Basic Bicycle Maintenance workshop at the NE Seattle Tool Library, where you will work with experienced bike shack volunteer Russ Steele, who has over 60 years of cycling expertise. Bring your own bike and learn hands-on skills for tuning up your bicycle, including gear, brake, and bearing adjustments, as well as wheel truing and bike fitting. You'll also gain insights into common bicycle noises and their solutions, enhancing your riding experience and prolonging your bike's lifespan.
The workshop is open to participants of all ages, with sliding scale pricing available to ensure accessibility for all members of the community. Children can attend with a parent or guardian on a case-by-case basis; please email for details.
While the NE Seattle Tool Library is mostly wheelchair accessible, note that the all-gender restroom is not ADA compliant. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own interpreters, as non-English and ASL services are not provided.
Getting to the tool library is easy with transit options available via King County Metro, and there are bike routes if you prefer cycling. Limited parking is available for those driving. We look forward to helping you become more confident in your bike maintenance skills!
