Join us for "Drop-in Nature Journaling: Birds, Blooms, and Bugs!"—a delightful series designed for nature lovers ages eight and up. Each session encourages mindfulness and a deeper connection to the natural world through observation, drawing, and writing. Participants can explore various species found on the Museum campus while enjoying the vibrant birdsong, fragrant flowers, and captivating insects native to the area.
Drop in anytime during the sessions, whether for a short visit or the entire duration. Certified instructors from the Wild Wonder Foundation will guide participants, offering tips on nature journaling. Supplies like paper, clipboards, and pencils will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own materials.
Session Dates:
- **June 17**: Explore bird species in the oak woodland near the Prehistoric Forest.
- **July 15**: Discover the local plant community and its historical uses in the Sukinanik’oy Garden of Chumash Plants.
- **August 19**: Focus on intriguing insects in the Museum Backyard.
