Artist Talk and Workshop at Culture Commons Gallery

Led by "Built on Legacy" exhibiting artist Juan de Dios Mora, this interactive talk and workshop invites attendees to learn the artists processes and create their own individual works. In this demonstration, printmaker Juan de Dios Mora will showcase the fundamentals of monotype printing. This method offers a straightforward, intuitive, and enjoyable way to experience and explore indirect printing. The demonstration will concentrate on making monotypes by applying oil-based ink onto a CD, creating the image through the reductive drawing technique. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, create, and print their own monotype prints on paper using an etching press. No previous printmaking experience is necessary, and all materials will be supplied.
