Next Rung - Battle for Mental Health

Battle for Mental Health is a first responder charity boxing event that brings firefighters and public safety officers together for a night of competition, camaraderie, and purpose. More than just a sporting event, it serves as a platform to raise awareness around first responder mental health and suicide prevention—issues that are often overlooked despite the demanding and high-stress nature of these professions. All proceeds from the event directly support the mission and work of Next Rung, ensuring that the impact extends far beyond fight night. Next Rung is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring awareness and support to first responder mental health and suicide prevention. We are dedicated to serving those who serve others by ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need. Next Rung operates a 24-hour talk and text line across all time zones, providing first responders with immediate access to someone they can trust—whether they simply need to talk or are seeking help navigating more serious challenges. In addition, we help coordinate and fund professional counseling services and inpatient treatment, removing barriers to care and ensuring real, tangible support is available when it matters most.
