Big Garden Birdwatch
Big Garden Birdwatch is back on 29 to the 30th of January! Sit back, relax and watch your garden birds for an hour. Whether you're a newcomer or a regular - welcome!
It all counts, and the RSPB would love to know your sightings. You may even get some surprises.
Big Garden Birdwatch is fun, free and for everyone. And you don’t need a garden to take part Counting birds from your balcony, or your local park will play a vital role in helping understand how UK birds are doing. Sign up for your free guide and let's look out for birds together!
Save the date: 29-30 January 2027
Come back in mid-December and register with the RSPB rspb.org.uk/get-involved/activities/birdwatch/ to take part in the world's largest garden wildlife survey. In 2023, over half a million people took part. This year, you could be one of them!
Once you register, they will keep you updated with top tips on how to get ready for your best Birdwatch ever.
On the day of the Big Garden Birdwatch itself, taking part couldn't be simpler. You just spend an hour watching the birds in your garden, from your balcony or in your local park, and tell the RSPB what you've seen. If you see very few birds or none at all, that's also really useful information, so please let them know.

Taking part is as easy as 1,2,3
1. Watch the birds around you for one hour
2. Count how many of each species of bird lands on your patch
3. Go online and tell what you saw
