C. , (July 2, 2026) Learn about warblers of the western Carolinas on Tuesday, The mountains of North and South Carolina are rich in bird diversity. Every spring we see an influx of migratory birds, none more spectacular than the wood warblers. These jewels of the avian world are known for their bright plumage, beautiful songs, and interesting behavior. Presenter Kevin Burke will review most of the breeding warbler species in our area and give a photographic tour of “our” warblers. Presenter Kevin Burke and his wife Jennie own and operate Carolina Nature Tours, based in Hendersonville. They offer guided walks, hikes, and day trips throughout western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina. Please register for this event at conservingcarolina.org/calendar. The Saluda Library Speaker Series is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 44 West Main Street, Saluda, NC. This program series began in 2024 thanks to a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, and is now made possible due to the continued partnership between Polk County Public Libraries and Conserving Carolina. Polk County Public Libraries has two libraries, Columbus Library and Saluda Library, with books, movies, music, audiobooks, and downloadable eBooks and audiobooks available for checkout, as well as public computers and wireless internet access.
