Details:
Join us for "Creative Foundations: Cyanotypes" on June 13, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Create Space Studios. This unique workshop begins with a guided tour of the "Celebrate Knowing Nature: Stories of the Boreal Forest" exhibition led by Jane Winchell, Director of The Dotty Brown Art & Nature Center at PEM. Discover the biodiversity and importance of our northernmost forests before diving into the art of cyanotype printing with artist Patricia Scialo. Participants will learn this innovative cameraless photography technique using sunlight-reactive treated paper, and will have the opportunity to reflect on their connection to nature through their creations. All supplies will be provided, and attendees will receive essential materials to continue their practice at home. Ideal for beginners and those re-engaging with art, the workshop includes a lunch break, with lunch options available at the Atrium Café or nearby. Ticket prices are $69 for members and $79 for nonmembers, which includes a $30 materials fee. Suggested for ages 18 and older. Register now at pem.org/events/creative-foundations-cyanotypes?date=2026-06-13&time=10:30.
