About the facilitator: Travis was born in Thibodaux, LA, and grew up in a lot of places. His essays about family, culture, and pedagogy have been published or are forthcoming in Cleaver Magazine, Louisiana Literature, Hobart, Bull Men’s Fiction, Bridge Eight, The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, The Good Men Project, Pioneertown, and elsewhere. He has also co-authored two communication textbooks. He has been teaching through non-profit, secondary, and post-secondary education for 20 years. He teaches nonfiction writing and a creative writing capstone for Southern New Hampshire University and serves as the Writing Studio Coordinator at Keiser University-Tampa.
