Join us as we tour Doug McCarty's Spencer Shadow Ranch, a 340-acre cattle ranch near Eugene, where the family has been growing their own grazing forage, and running grass fed, grass finished cattle for 11 years.
Topics of the tour will include raising cattle without employees, integrating permaculture and silvopasture techniques, oak woodland restoration, and implementing NRCS and FSA programs on the ranch.
Stay for an optional potluck from 12-1 and enjoy lunch together and a general discussion on the future of farming and how new farmers get started.
