Ohio University Chillicothe is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year with an open house celebration on Thursday, September 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The event will feature music from the Chillicothe High School Marching Band led by Marching 110 alumna Michelle Turon and a Chillicothe High School string quartet led by director Kyndal Preston.
On September 16, 1946, the Chillicothe branch of Ohio University opened with 281 students in 41 classes at Chillicothe High School. OHIO Chillicothe was established in response to a need identified by the community's businesses and citizens. Today, OHIO Chillicothe continues the tradition of providing access to affordable, high-quality education. This anniversary event commemorates the contributions of many to fulfill the dreams of our community.
