Details:
Join us for the "Ancestral Knowledge: Fire by Friction" workshop, an opportunity to explore the ancient skill of fire making that has played a crucial role in human survival. Led by Amos Rodriguez, a Season 7 contestant from the History Channel’s survival series *Alone* and cofounder of Nourish Indiana, participants will learn about essential plant allies for tinder and discuss the fire triangle along with various primitive fire-making techniques. Attendees will gather plant materials from the library grounds and watch demonstrations of hand drill and bow drill methods. They will also have the chance to use flint and steel strikers and bow drills made from local wood. This free community workshop, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Wabash County's Good Deeds Grant, is open to all ages. Registration is required; sign up at [this link](engagedpatrons.org/EventsExtended.cfm?SiteID=2262&EventID=587102). Additional workshops will be offered in July. Join us on the Library Lawn for this unique experiential learning opportunity!
