Details:
The vast size of the Pacific Ocean made the war in the Pacific unlike any other theater of World War II. Once the United States entered the conflict, aircraft quickly proved essential to projecting power across great distances and controlling the skies above island battlefields. This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about aviation in the Pacific War. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into pilots, their equipment, and the experiences of aircrews who played a decisive role in the conflict. Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
