Outpost: Marine Assault Squad

Details:

As the Pacific War progressed, Japanese defenses grew increasingly formidable as American forces moved closer to the Japanese home islands. Well fortified positions required new tactics and close coordination between infantry, armor, and specialized weapons. This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn how the United States Marine Corps confronted these defenses. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into battlefield tactics, including the use of tanks, satchel charges, and flamethrowers, with live flamethrower demonstrations highlighting the realities of combat in the Pacific. Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays at the Pacific Combat Zone, located at 508 E Austin St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
