Details:
As the United States entered the Second World War, effective communication quickly proved essential to the success of military operations. Reliable and coordinated systems were needed to direct forces across vast distances and rapidly changing battlefields. This FREE Outpost program offers visitors an opportunity to learn about World War II communications. Guests can explore real artifacts while gaining insight into radios, field telephones, and other technologies that helped coordinate troops and shape the outcome of the war. Outpost programs are educational, drop-in experiences held on select Saturdays on the Nimitz Platz at 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. Visitors of all ages are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and engage directly with history.
