His book chronicles the convergence of Spanish, Mexican, and Indigenous peoples whose lives have been tightly interwoven for centuries. It is more than a historical account; it is a profound exploration of identity and belonging. Vigil is a self-proclaimed “son of Barelas” and is eager to share his work in the community his family hails from.
