Details:
The Chief Noonday Chapter invites you to an out-and-back self-guided storybook hike on natural surface.
This hike starts Friday, October 9, and will run through Saturday, October 18, 2026 from dawn to dusk.
Along the trail you can enjoy reading the book, “Fungus is Among Us!” by Joe Keller, Illustrated by Erica Salcedo. This children’s science book uses a rhyming story to explore the world of fungi, showing they are everywhere in nature, food, and even on our bodies, while also explaining their importance as decomposers and in making foods like pizza. The book blends a fun narrative with educational facts, including a Q&A with a mycologist, making it an engaging introduction to mycology for young readers.
Hike starts and ends at Mile Marker 509.7 using Avenza Map 072 on Noonan Road, Hickory Corners, MI 49060.
Please sign in at the log box on the trail to record your attendance.
There are no restrooms.
